Biography

Susan Turley is an award-winning, optioned screenwriter and filmmaker who has spent her career telling bold, emotionally charged stories, both behind the camera and on the page.  She has written and directed features and multiple shorts, with her debut feature, THE MO OF MI, screening at over 30 festivals in the U.S. and internationally before landing distribution with Ardustry Home Entertainment.  Her follow-up, CHANGING SPOTS, based on her award-winning screenplay, continued that momentum on the festival circuit before being acquired by Pet Projects Entertainment and was later adapted into a novel.

A Midwest native, Susan got her start at the University of Texas at Austin, where she built and ran her own production company before heading to Los Angeles.  There, she spent nearly two decades in studio entertainment as a promo writer-producer-editor, mastering the art of grabbing attention fast and keeping it.

Now based near Chicago, Susan writes full-time, specializing in romance-driven comedies and vertical micro-dramas.  She currently has two Christmas-themed rom-coms under option and is developing a slate of high-heat, high-drama projects for the vertical space.
